The event occurred in Lisbon, Portugal, and highlighted questions such as “What understanding water molecule holds for our lives? What remains to be discovered?”
Bold scientists, daring entrepreneurs, and curious individuals were coming together furthering our frontier of understanding. Internationally renowned speakers shared their latest findings on the deeply held secrets of water.
Sergio Ribeiro, IPWS Executive Secretary, presented a lecture on how the research ecosystem on the molecular level can be improved by advancing in partnership with UNESCO – Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP).
Just after the Conference, an in-person meeting was held at the headquarters of the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme in Paris with a group of researchers from around the world to discuss the referred collaboration and the next steps for establishing a Flagship Initiative on the molecular level of water. This initiative encourages and strengthens transdisciplinary networks to facilitate scientific cooperation and capacity building, development of analytical tools, and data sharing across national boundaries.
